Kathryn asked Jack to draw what would be a perfect day for him. He decided to draw himself playing in the snow with lots of hedgehogs. He chose a yellow hat (with hedgehog on top) and yellow gloves because yellow is his favourite colour.
Jack is a Child of the Year ’Finalist’ at the 2011 Bighearted Scotland Awards
Back in August you may recall that Jack was nominated for 'Child of the Year' at the Bighearted Scotland Awards 2011. After many weeks of deliberation, we found out today that he has made it to the final three kids.
The event organisers told us that there was an impressive number of nominations for the Awards so for Jack to make it this far is amazing, we are very proud of his achievement.
Jack is in the final along with two other very impressive young people, they are Nicole Louise Connelly and Rhionna McCulloch. Regardless of who wins, all three have done amazingly well for their own cause and Jack will be the first to stand up and applaud. Good luck to everyone and we hope you have a good night!
The winner will be announced at a black tie ceremony on Friday October 14 2011 at Glasgow’s Radisson Blu Hotel.
Skunk drinking a glass of wine for Louise Birrell’s Mum (Happy Mothers Day Skunk)
Jack had fun drawing a skunk, especially the part where he is spraying his stinky smell on someone.

Lots of different animals (Big Five game) stacked on top of one another for Alan Govan
While trying to decide which stack of animals to do, Dad remembered something about a group of animals that used to be hunted in Africa (top five most difficult to hunt on foot). Thanks to Wikipedia, Jack and Dad were able to do a little bit of research (learning, Dad wins) and discovered the Big Five game. They consist of (from bottom up), African Elephant, Black Rhinoceros, Cape Buffalo, Lion and Leopard. Jack loved doing this one. Thank you Alan for your brilliant suggestion.
