Jack decided to add the egg but on attempt to draw an oval, it came out a bit wonky. He quickly declared that the baby chick was attempting to get out (hatch) and that’s why it was a funny shape!

Nick is an old friend of Jack’s Dad and back in the old days (1990s) they occasionally played rugby for Portobello. Nick was a stocky, young, bulldogish looking, floppy haired, one handed scrum half while Jack’s Dad (Ed) was an amazing, good looking flanker with incredible pace and hands.
Please note this was written by Jack’s Dad so there may be some bias.

Jennie’s original request for her son Dylan was:
Can I please request a picture of a giraffe and a tortoise for my son Dylan, who is 6 months old?
Jack decided to do something a little different with this one. When I read out to him a giraffe and a tortoise, he thought he would combine the best parts of both animals to create a new one–a Toraffe. So here you go, the long legs & neck of a giraffe, the shell and tough head of a tortoise, a Toraffe.
PS–apparently his favourite food is cherry ice cream.

Lovely big thank you to Rebecca Watson over at Derwent Pencils for getting in touch and sending Jack this lovely tin of pencils. There are quite literally hundreds in here (72 really) of every colour you can imagine. Toby was convinced it was a tin of biscuits and was actually a little disappointed that there were none inside.
THANK YOU!
