The End

Message from Jack’s Mum & Dad

It has been a long time since our 6–year–old Jack finished his massive drawing effort of 536 pictures, published his book in the UK, Brazil & Korea and raised over £64,000 ($100,000) for the Scottish hospital that treated his brother.

He has since moved to California, won a Pride of Britain Award and even managed to draw a few more pictures but the last few months have seen Jack busy with school, life and growing–up.

Mum, Dad, Jack, Toby & Noah all feel now is a good time to bring Jack’s fundraising website, drawings and project — Jack Draws Anything, to a definitive endpoint.

As parents, we have done our best to explain to the boys that it is perfectly natural for things in life to have a beginning, a middle and an ending. We all agree now that Jack Draws Anything has run its course.

We are all absolutely happy to move on, look back with fond memories and look forward to the future.

We will of course leave this website turned on for as long as we possibly can so that others can enjoy Jack’s drawings, story and photographs.

If anyone would still like to contact us, we are more than happy to answer questions as best we can.

Last Word from Jack

Hi, I’m Jack from Jack Draws Anything.

My website and drawings are all finished now. Thank you to everyone who helped and donated. My Mum & Dad is going to leave the website turned on so you can still see all the cool stuff. We raised LOTS of money for the Sick Kids. See you soon!

Love
Jack

Walk with Scott

This is a ‘forgotten drawing’ — during a very busy 2012, we completely forgot to put this awesome artwork onto Jack’s website. Sorry everyone!

Our good friend Scott Glynn (big giver, picture requester and overall good guy) is also involved in his own fundraising.

Back in the day (circa late 2012), he asked Jack if he could help him with a logo for his venture — Walk with Scott.

Jack’s explanation for the logo:

I drew your six rugby balls in the right colours and right order (with help from my Dad). Each one is one of the six rugby clubs you are going to visit. I joined them together with dots to show you walking between them. I did the O in your name as the Ross High ball (your club) and put them in the right order. Then I drew your face in the middle.

Scott’s plan was/is to do a sponsored walk (a long way) around East Lothian (in Scotland) connecting up the local rugby clubs. At each stop, having a game of rugby!

Scott is raising money for a number of different charities and has so far done two walks (planning number three) and raised over £170K for a number of different charities. Well done Scott, you are a Superstar!

Jack said today:

“I can’t believe that Jack Draws Anything is 3 years old. I am 9 now and my website is 3! Hello everyone who still finds my website and thank you for all the donations! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!”

Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity (previously The Sick Kids Friends Foundation) is still accepting donations and Jack’s JustGiving page is always open. Thank you.

Happy 9th Birthday Jack!

…and it is also Noah’s half birthday. He is 4½ today so is EXACTLY half of Jack’s age.

No bogeys as Jack chips in with £13,000 for the Sick Kids with 7 good draws

Despite being very quiet these last few months, Jack took some time during his Summer holiday to complete some new drawings.

These doodles were requested by the Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity (previously The Sick Kids Friends Foundation) for a Charity Auction and featured famous British Golfers.

The auction took place during the Archerfield Sick Kids Invitational Pro–Am in Jack’s old stomping ground of East Lothian, Scotland.

Jack completed nine pictures and Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity (previously The Sick Kids Friends Foundation) managed to get seven of them signed by the Golfers themselves.

The Golfers in question were Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose, Darren Clarke, Nick Faldo, Lee Westwood, Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam.

Jack did complete two other pictures, of Luke Donald and Colin Montgomerie which were unfortunately unable to be signed.

At the Auction itself, a mystery buyer donated a wonderful sum of £13,000 for the set of seven Jack pictures, complete with authentic Golfer autographs.

This now takes Jack’s fundraising to almost £65,000 (including Gift Aid).

Jack is very happy with his drawings and had great fun with these Golfers. He is still happy to help out Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity (previously The Sick Kids Friends Foundation) whenever he can.

Maureen Harrison, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity (previously The Sick Kids Friends Foundation) added “Huge thanks to Jack for this tremendous contribution! This is an amazing amount and we will put this donation to a very good use.”

There are nine drawings in total and Jack calls these his Golf Collection. Fore!
